The Troll Cross is a Norse symbol of protection in the shape of the Odal/Othala rune. In Swedish folklore, it was a useful amulet to protect against trolls, dark elves, and malevolent magic. When Vikings wore this symbol, they believed that chances of falling into danger significantly decreased.
