This solid pewter pendant is Gungnir, the spear of the Norse god Odin. Odin's followers wear this pendant for protection. The shaft is decorated with knotwork in a Manx style ring chain. Gungnir was the finest spear in the cosmos, handcrafted by the Dwarves, and is a symbol of the power and authority of lordship. Also in the Norse Sagas, Odin sacrificed himself by simultaneously stabbing himself with Gungnir and hanging himself to discover Runes.
The pewter pendant is attached to the chain by a stainless steel ring and pewter dragon heads. The chain is stainless steel and based on designs from the Viking period.
The chain is approx. 50cm in length, and weighs approx. 100g.
