This pendant is a reproduction of one found in Finland. It depicts a bear tooth and dates from the 9th-11th century. There have been over 70 of this type of pendant found in Finland, and they are often in bronze. The Norse people considered bears sacred animals with incredibly powerful spirits. A bear cult of Berserker Vikings drew their power from the bear, becoming fierce warriors subject to fits of frenzy. According to belief, during these fits they were immune to steel and fire and made great havoc in the ranks of the enemy.
